POCHEMUCHKA

CHELSEA MA FINE ART GROUP SHOW

2023.2

On February 20th, 2023, the "POCHEMUCHKA" Chelsea MA Fine Art Group Show opened at Cookhouse Gallery.

POCHEMUCHKA, The word was inspired by a well-known Russian children's book titled Что я ви́дел (“What I saw”), which tells the story of a highly inquisitive five- or six-year-old boy.

Curiosity leads people to take the first step toward exploration. In this exhibition, the artists use objects from the daily to construct scenes that are removed from their daily contexts. The works link different narratives around fictional, physical, melodic, and archaeological threads. The interaction between the work and the viewer runs through the exhibition, allowing the space of the cookhouse galley to be assembled into a 'playground' for the viewer to actively explore and discover.

In this exhibition, my work continues the theme of 'fiction', amplifying the 'playful humor' of 'fiction'. I use daily objects to create a series of ready-made installations: based on the alteration of the scale of daily objects; the construction of momentary scenes and the introduction of my role, to complete each 'trick' and to combine the space with a humorous and absurd way of fictionalizing the 'event', and In this fiction-based scene, the stability of space is challenged.

My Role: Exhibition booklet and poster design, exhibition space design
