Baby Faces
My sculpture originates from my childhood image, which I replicated into 24 baby masks. I constructed a stage on the ground in space and arranged the sculptures on their corresponding "seats". They stem from my retrospective exploration of my past self. Through the repeated replication of faces, they gradually deform, pointing to the ever-changing aspect of self-awareness in my memories, while also evoking ambiguous personal emotions. I use cosmetics to color these masks, symbolizing my initial understanding of gender during childhood, while also resisting the constraints imposed by gender.
