Those who wish to take the bait.

2023

The shipwreck installation in the park was originally intended as a children's play area, but the artist has added a new element to the environment based on the nature of the site itself: the 'fishing rod installation' is set at the prow of the ship, creating a fictional 'fishing event’.

The index finger acts as a fish hook and represents a lure to the outside world. It is derived from a Chinese posthumous saying: "Jiang Tai Gong fishes for a fish, and the wisher takes the bait." Here, the artist acts as both architect and spectator of this theatrical prank. In the park, the unconscious participation of visitors accidentally leads them into a 'joke'.
